Itinerary -
Day 01: Ahmedabad – Palitana – Bhavnagar
In the morning, we will drive to Palitana, the gateway to the Shatrunjaya hill and one of the holiest Jain pilgrimage sites. There are about 863 temples on the top of the hill that are built over a span of 900 years and are elegantly carved in marble. After reaching on the top, you will visit the Jain temple, which is dedicated to Shri Adishwara; the first Jain Tirhankara (apostle). This temple is one of the most magnificent and sacred temples in Shtrunjaya hill. Further, we will visit the Chaumukha or four faced temple. This temple has an image of Adinath facing out in the fore cardinal direction.
After exploring Palitana, we will drive to Bhavnagar. It is located about 56 km from Palitana. On arrival at Bhavnagar, check into the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 02: Bhavnagar – Blackbuck Sanctuary - Bhavnagar
Today, we will start our day a little bit early and proceed to visit the Velavadar National Park (The blackbuck sanctuary) with packed breakfast. The national park is an exclusive meadow ecosystem, which has attracted fame for the successful protection of the wolf, the blackbuck and the lesser florican. The park also offer habitat to more than 187 species of birds including migratory as well as residentsbirds such as Partridge, Pelican, Harrier, Duck, Eagle, Sand Grouse, Crane, Stork, Lark and Lesser Florican.
After taking pleasure of our jungle safari to the Blackbuck sanctuary, we will return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, we will proceed to explore the city of Bhavnagar and visit the Takhteshwar Temple located on a high platform and offering breathtaking views of Bhavnagar city. Lord Shiva is worshipped as the main deity of this shrine.
Further, we will visit the Nilambag Palace, which is the residence of the current Maharaja of Bhavnagar. Also, we will visit the Mangalsinhji Mahal Palace, which is the residence of the members of the Bhavnagar royal family. Another interesting place to explore is the Gaurishankar Lake. It is a beautiful lake located between small hills and was made by Shree Gaurishankar Oza, the Deewan of Bhavnagar.
Later, we will return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Bhavnagar – Ahmedabad
After breakfast, we will drive back to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival at Ahmedabad, we will drop you at your desired location.
